Distiller profile

A useful distiller profile does more than repeat a reputation. It asks which production choices are documented, how historical claims are supported, and what the finished spirit communicates in the glass.
Method
Look for clear descriptions of the spirit base, botanical approach, distillation, coloration, proof, and intended service. Separate information about a particular bottling from statements about a producer's wider work.
Evidence
When a profile connects modern production with older formulas or research, identify the documents, dates, samples, and limits behind the connection. A persuasive narrative still needs traceable support.
Taste
Judge each bottle as a bottle: aroma before water, development through the louche, texture, bitterness, sweetness, alcohol integration, and finish. Reputation can guide attention but should not replace the glass.
